Author Guidelines

General Terms

The As Sunni Journal accepts scientific articles in the form of research results, community service outcomes, literature reviews, as well as conceptual articles related to Islamic Studies, Education, Islamic Religious Education, Humanities, and other relevant fields of study. Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be an original work that has never been published and is not under review in any other journal.
  2. Free from plagiarism, data fabrication, and violations of scientific publication ethics.
  3. Must have a similarity index of no more than 25% according to Turnitin (excluding references, direct quotes, and sources exempted per the editor's policy).
  4. Written in English with proper grammar.
  5. All authors must agree to submit the manuscript to the As Sunni Journal.

 

Manuscript Format

Articles should be prepared using the official As Sunni Journal template with the following specifications:

  1. A4 paper size.
  2. Times New Roman font, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing.
  3. Margins of 2.5 cm on all sides (top, bottom, right, and left).
  4. Article length between 5,000–8,000 words or about 10–20 pages, including tables, figures, and references.
  5. Submit the article file in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)

 

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title The article title should be written briefly, clearly, and informatively, with a maximum of 15 words, and reflect the substance of the research. Below the title, include:
  2. Full name of the author without academic degrees;
  3. Institutional affiliation;
  4. Corresponding email address.
  5. Abstract The abstract is written in a single paragraph containing:
  6. Brief background;
  7. Research objectives;
  8. Research methods;
  9. Main results;
  10. Conclusion.
  11. The abstract should be 150–250 words, presented in English, and include 3–5 keywords.
  12. Introduction The introduction includes:
  13. Research background;
  14. Research problems;
  15. Insights and plans for problem-solving;
  16. Formulation of research objectives;
  17. A summary of the theoretical review related to the research problem; f. Research novelty.
  18. Research Method This section explains systematically:
  19. Research approach and type;
  20. Population and sample (research targets);
  21. Data collection techniques;
  22. Research instruments;
  23. Data analysis techniques.
  24. Results and Discussion This section contains:
  25. Research results;
  26. Data analysis and answers to research problems and questions;
  27. Shows how the findings were obtained;
  28. Interprets/explains the findings;
  29. Links the research findings to existing knowledge structures;
  30. Introduces new theories or modifications to existing theories;
  31. Results and discussion are presented integratively to produce a comprehensive analysis.
  32. Conclusion Consists of conclusions and suggestions, presenting a summary of results and discussion, referring to research objectives and recommendations.
  33. References The reference list should only include sources actually cited in the article. Reference requirements:
  34. Minimum of 15 references;
  35. Preferably from scientific journals, academic books, proceedings, or reliable scientific sources;
  36. Most references are recommended to be from the last 5 years to maintain the novelty of the study;
  37. Authors are advised to use journal articles with DOI if available.

 

Citation and References

Jurnal As Sunni officially uses the American Psychological Association (APA) Style 7th Edition as a guide for writing citations and references. All citations in the manuscript must consistently use APA Style 7th Edition, and authors are required to use reference management applications such as: a. Mendeley; b. Zotero; c. EndNote; d. RefWorks; or e. other reference management apps.

One author: (Hidayat, 2022)
Two authors: (Rahman & Abdullah, 2023)
Three authors or more: (Suryadi et al., 2024)
Direct quotes should include page numbers, for example: (Azra, 2021, p. 75)

Tables and Figures
a. All tables and figures must be numbered according to their appearance in the manuscript.
b. Table titles are placed above the table.
c. Figure titles are placed below the figure.
d. Any table or figure adapted from other sources must include full source information according to APA Style 7th Edition.
