Abstract

Authentic assessment is an assessment approach that directly assesses
students' performance in constructing and producing meaningful
knowledge and skills. In Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning,
authentic assessment plays an important role in measuring the
achievement of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies.
Analyzing real evaluations in PAI learning
is the aim of the research, especially in measuring learning achievement,
integrating the learning process with assessment, and providing
opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding in a more
applicable way.
The results of the study show that authentic assessment in Islamic
Religious Education has several main contributions. First, it allows direct
measurement of the understanding and practice of Islamic values.
Second, giving students the opportunity to build their understanding
independently and contextually. Third, integrating learning and assessment
into a continuous process. Fourth, giving students space to display their
understanding according to their potential.
However, authentic assessment also has challenges, such as requiring
intensive time, maintaining assessment consistency, and avoiding
subjectivity. With proper implementation, authentic assessment can
improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning, helping
students not only understand Islamic teachings in theory but also apply
them in everyday life.
